Matthew Hillman, DDS (aka Dr. Matt) He’s like a pediatrician…..for teeth. Dr. Matt is not your average dentist. With his warm smile and fun personality, he is able to get children of all ages excited and involved in their oral health. Dr. Matt grew up the son of an Army officer. Throughout his youth, he had the opportunity After all of that moving, he finally landed in Kansas City where he attended the UMKC, School of Dentistry. While studying for his doctorate, he discovered he had a unique connection with his pediatric patients, which encouraged him to spend his dental career helping children. During his training, received many acknowledgements for his academic accomplishments and graduated with honors. He completed his specialized training in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and returned to Kansas City to open his pediatric dental practice, Smiles Dentistry for Kids, in Overland Park, Kansas. Dr. Matt is recognized as a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He remains active in the dental community and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association. Dr. Matt recently married Emily (Van Trump), a graduate of Blue Valley West and a current medical student at the UMKC - School of Medicine. They have a kitty named Tigger, a rabbit named Leon and an adorable cocker spaniel named Knusper. In his spare time, Dr. Matt likes to kick off his dentist shoes and slip on his shin guards and soccer cleats.
